Helping Families Help Themselves
We know we need to have a sustainable impact on vulnerable families. An impact that will give them self-sufficiency and the ability to stay together as a family. That’s why we created our Income Generating Scheme. This Scheme gives out micro loans to struggling families, at 0% interest, so that they can buy animals, equipment or supplies to start their own business.
The fact that we give a loan is an important part of this Scheme, it means that families take pride and invest in their business; they have not simply received a handout. We have a 100% success rate of families paying back their loans, which means we can use the money to help other families establish a business.

Fantastic Frying!
Out of her small, one room shop (which is also her and her two children's home) Mihret runs a corner shop. She received a small loan from Hope365, which she used to buy a deep fat fryer for her business. Mihret is very business savvy- her shop is on a road which is right beside a local high school, so she knew that fresh chips would be a hit with the hungry teenagers who walk past everyday!
An Egg-cellent business!
Nuriya is another of our mothers who are part of the Income Generating (IG) scheme who used her small loan to buy chickens. She and her three children raise these chickens and sell their eggs, allowing them to buy food, clothing and other necessities.
The Spice of Life!
Just look at Genet’s wonderful spice shop! If only you could smell and taste some of these fantastic seasonings- they’re nothing like we have here in Northern Ireland. Genet is one of the mothers who have benefited from our Income Generating (IG) scheme and we were able to visit her family on our trip to Shashemene earlier this year.
