Child Sponsorship
Our One-to-One Child Sponsorship scheme pairs you with a child and their family in Ethiopia. Through your support of just £20 a month, we are able to provide food parcels, clothes and a quality education to your sponsor child, which allows them to thrive within their family unit. Each Sponsor Child is only paired with one Sponsor, and we try to provide regular contact between Sponsor Children and their Sponsors one-two times a year.

CHANGING LIVES
Many of the children we rescue from the streets are able to be reunited with either their immediate or extended family. They may have been trafficked or found themselves on the streets due to poverty or family problems. Our priority is to get them off the street and into our Tesfa Manoriya Bota Centre. Here our staff try to piece together the child’s story so we can start to try and locate any relatives to assess if reunification is possible and in the child’s best interest. While that may sound straightforward, that is often far from the case. One child was trafficked from 290km away (read Dereje’s story), multiple others are from rural regions perhaps 50km or 60km away! We must undertake home assessment visits and interviews to establish if reunification will be possible.
That’s where our street kid reunification child sponsorship scheme kicks in. We offer you the chance to be the person to come alongside that individual child and help support him and his family. For £20 per month we are able to ensure that the child receives an education, complete with school uniform, books, shoes etc. We will also provide proper beds and other basic requirements, medical assistance etc for the family. Where required we can also refer the family to our income generation support initiative which helps educate families as to how best to maximise resources such as include goats, chickens, sheep, seed potatoes etc.
By investing in this child, the whole family will benefit. Our pastoral staff will be calling regularly with the child and family to ensure home-life is progressing well. As part of the scheme we will send you photographs of how life is improving for the child and his family. As you exchange letters etc with the child (which our staff will interpret) we feel you’ll gain great satisfaction in that knowledge that you are making such an impact if the life of a child, and indeed a family, so far away.
